A subspecies of baretta noted for their spikes growing on the back. They evolved in desert regions, and can now be found in various areas around the world. They hide in holes they dug in the ground to avoid the heat, but the moment they sense creatures nearby, they will jump out from beneath the ground to attack. Even when they are hidden beneath the ground, their spikes protrude out, which seems to act as sensors to determine the distance between them and their prey.
