Bakuya was the "female" blade of a legendary pair of swords forged by a blacksmith for a king long ago. as the sword was made with a sacrifice, it harbors a lot of malice which turned it into a white dragon over many years. It was rumored that if anyone could defeat the dragon, the malice would be cleansed and the victor would be fit to wield the legendary sword.
