Good Morning once again! It's Zodiark here and I'm beating the bolts out of this Japanese inspired boss for coins. So let's get down to brass tacks. The boss has about 4 million hp, has no element resist or weakness, resists all stat ailments (stop not confirmed), and can be broke by Atk/Def/Spr down debuffs. Magic Breaks don't work. So here was my winning squad!

Noctis: Breaker (reinserted into the meta!). Ayaka: Buffer Waifu. Orlandeau #1: Main Attacker. Orlandeau #2: Also a Main Attacker. Orlandeau #3: Also a Main Attacker. Orlandeau #4 (Friend) Also a Main Attacker.

You can probably see where this is going...

Round 1: Ayaka performs Embolden. Noctis does Warp Strike lowering Atk, but more importantly that Def. (Drumroll please). 4 Orlandeau's spam Divine Ruination (each one with a light elemental Great Sword in 2nd slot) for max elemental chain damage. Poor thing never saw it coming.

Did I summon an esper? No. Did I use Magic 3 or more times? No. Do I Care? No.

Well that's what I'm going to keep doing for this Raid. Hope this helps. Now if ya'll will excuse me, the local Hardee's is still open and it's bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit time. Good luck on your Roy pulls.

Hey there. This is Deiser speaking, and I just wanted to discuss TryTrinity's damage type, because it seems to be bizarre. I've noticed that when I attack break the boss with 9S then buff defense with enhanced soleil, it reduces the damage considerably... but oddly enough, buffing SPR after attack-breaking the boss reduces damage even further than that. Breaking attack then buffing defense lowers his damage-per-attack to roughly 1500 hp for his more damaging attack... but buffing SPR instead lowers the damage to 750 hp for each of his stronger attacks. Just what type of damage does he do?

Even without breaking or buffing, his one turn damage damage consistently won't keep any member of my all dps team. So you can take an extra turn to get you magic and esper quest in.

[2017 King of Darkness ELT by FalconX] [3rounds'ish win] Party: WoL (full break), Soleil(SPR+,DEF+ buffs), Ashe(heavens fury), Silvia(aOe light dmg), Trance Terra(mag824). Friend/Comp: Trance Terra(mag850+)

No heal cept Ashe, doesnt matter if boss hits any1 else except t.terra, get chain/spark will go down easy enough. keep def/spr buffs will make it to 3rounds. I use WoL: for items > remedy's on PC that get status effect.

Round1: Trance terra x2 > magical activation, WoL - full break, ashe - Heavens fury, silvia - aOe light dmg for chain. Soleil -DEF+ buff.

Round2: Trance terra x2 > chaos wave x4 chain/spark chain, WoL -light w/us or any, ashe - repeat, silvia -repeat, Soleil -ATK/Mag+ buff.

Round3: t.terra x2 > chaos wave awakened x4, ashe/silvia =repeat, WoL -any, Soleil -any. done/final round.

Have fun, --Gogamer2018 (talk) 04:45, 9 December 2017 (UTC)

Knock out ELT in 4 rounds farm method w/o superior TMR. Do need at least 1 dual wield and all characters with 400+ ATK or MAG. Have friend be 950+ ATK or MAG (preferably A2). Have Minfilia and Ashe in party. Use Guard Order and Liberating Flesh first round. Other members attack/use magic. Use Assault Order and Heavenly Fury all other rounds. Keep attacking with other characters. May lose 1 or 2 players but should still win within 5 rounds.

BluEvanescent here speaking. Anyway, King of Darkness, how good was the name? Well, as good as you can beat the living pulp out of him. You might be asking or searching on Google right now like, "How to defeat King of Darkness?" or "King of Darkness Tutorials on how to beat OBAMA". If you ask me how to, then let me explain step by step:

  • If you happen to have a Chainer, you can use any units like Orlandeau, Trance Terra, Fryevia, etc. Mine is using Veritas of the Light or Lightlord (in my standards) since King of Darkness doesn't have any resistant to Elementals WITH AN EXCEPTION of status ailments. You can also bring Onion Knight as a friend or in your party list, if you happen to have one.
  • Next was Physical Damager. Most friends are commonly using Noctis or A2 or any Physical Damagers if you happen to obtain one. Just to clarify that you need to chain along with the Chainers.
  • Moving on to the next set up was a Buffer/Debuffer. This is the Side-type Unit and if you happen to obtain Luka, Refia or any Supporter Units, good for you. Again, you don't need this step unless you really need it.
  • Healers are useful here since King of Darkness can inflict one Status Ailment per unit. Use Refia, Luka, Tilith or anyone in your party.
  • Last but not the least was any unit. Yeah, any unit that can be useless. This is the another Side-type Unit. If you plan to steal 3000 Gil, use Xon. If you want to level up a unit, equip someone with EXP Boost.

In a nutshell, you can basically slay him within 2 or 3 turns. Just to notify others that Chaining is a must. Thank you for listening and I'll see you, next time.

iLiVeInAbOx05 here, I'm a free player and have only been playing for 3 - 4 months, and I have just gotten to the point where I'm actually able to beat the most difficult levels!

My team: Agrias (Full Break), Luneth, Fryevia, Rem, Rikku, Friend: Onion Knight (with Onion Cutter) or Fryevia

First turn: Full Break with Agrias, Protectga and Blizzaga with Rem, Frost Flower Blitz with Fryevia, Mix for Rikku, and Frost Flower / Onion Cutter with my friend.

Second turn: Divine Ruination with Agrias, Cut Through with Luneth, Support with Rem and Rikku, and Frost Flower with Fryevia(s) / Onion Cutter.

Break and buff when needed. I beat it between 4 and 7 turns depending on the strength of my friend unit and how unlucky I get.

Shakers here, I'm F2P but been at it for just over a year now.

I've settled into a routine now. Can OTK with 8-11M damage with just these 4:

Soleil. schwert dance+2 = +100% ATK buff & 35% DEF debuff, but other than that I haven't even equipped her (even if I stuff up & she dies her buffs stay on anyway).

Agrias (coz I don't have Oldmandeau). ATK 700+ and enhanced Divine Ruination. Equipped with my 2nd best light weapon (I gotta get me a 2nd excalibur) and it goes without saying, dual wield.

2B. ATK stat is 1100+ (but really anything over say 900 is ok) & using excal

2B friend. May or may not have excal, doesn't really make that much difference.

The remaining 2 slots can be filled by whomever needs the EXP, seeing as each battle gives out 30k of it.

Turn 1: schwert dance+2, divine ruination, followed by 2xspeed for 8-11 million damage every time... (ok sometimes only about 6 million :)

This Agrias-2B-2B combo has been my mainstay for some time now. I can also use an Orlandeau (or another enhanced Agrias even) if there are no 2B's available. The only difference is that Agrias+Orlandeau kick off the chain and do the light debuff, then 2B joins in on the chaining mayhem. The damage output is not as high as Agrias-2B-2B, but still good for a OTK.

At the start of the event I was using what has been my main party for a while now, which is WoL, enhanced Luka, Minfilia, Agrias, 2B. WoL was breaking DEF 45%, Minfilia was AoE buffing ATK 40%, Luka was twiddling her thumbs. I experimented a bit, and could still OTK without Minfilia's buff, but not without WoL's debuff. Then I looked at Soleil. I have had her at level 100 for some time now and had just been pondering bringing her in to the team... this event is the perfect time to do so! At first, unenhanced, her 60% ATK buff still beats Minfilia's easily. Then awaken Schwert to +1 for the additional 80% ATK buff and 30% DEF debuff and suddenly WoL is no longer needed. Awaken to +2 and it only gets better. And Luka is still sitting on the bench twiddling her thumbs, hoping that I don't sooner or later pull Tilith or Ayaka...

Oh and an additional tip: DO NOT MERGE YOUR KELSUSES IF YOU GET MORE THAN ONE... The more you do this event the more Kelsus-moogles you get, and do you know what his TMR does??? I'll give you a little hint: look up "Ifrit LB farming"... :)

P.S. Yes you heard that right, Soleil is dancing nude :)

Hello, everyone! Northwind here! Been at this since Shadow Bahamut Raid. (So, a bit under a year?)

Anyway. I'm a bit late to the party here, but I wanted to point out some things that I don't think anyone has pointed out yet. (My apologies if I just read over it...). I've been testing this for about a week and I *think* I've figured it out. Okay? Good. Here we go!

SUPER INFERNO!!

Super Inferno does not seem to target a random unit. It always seems to target the unit with the highest MP. In my case, that's Noctis. Noctis always gets targeted. Like, 100% of the time. Except...

...if Noctis Point Warps on Turn 3 so he's not targetable. In these cases, Super Inferno always targets Ashe, who has the second-highest MP, instead. (This is how I know that Super Inferno isn't targeting the unit with the highest HP--because while Noctis is highest in both, Ashe sucks really really hard in that department.)

A few other things:

1. Super Inferno can be dodged. I *think* a 100% evade unit whose MP was the highest in the party could shrug it off without fear. (I haven't been able to test this, though.)

2. Super Inferno's damage can be mitigated. My Noctis only takes 7999 if Reactive Defense has activated on a previous turn. In theory, Y'shtola or VoE could help wade through it without a KO. (Again, I haven't tested this--but I see no reason it *wouldn't* work.)

I hope this helps! Northwind, out! --Northwind858 (talk) 01:04, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
