Talk:Status Ailments

I suggest we add the unit name next to the unit specific spells/abilities/limit breaks. And then make the lists into separate bullet lists for readability; and separate for each category for greater reference. When I'm using this page for reference (such as figuring out which materia or accessories to equip for March on Ifrit), these lists are near impossible to use without clicking into each.

Should we include "stop" in this page? --Anon

Yes, I think it is only missing Stop and Charm. The only issue is that some LBs like Exdeath link directly here but don't apply those debuffs afaik, in this case either they have to be listed differently or we will have to change the description of the LB. --Umuzu (talk) 10:33, 15 October 2016 (EDT)
I would prefer changing other description pages, since I feel like we shouldn't divide any ailments just because they aren't showed in the menu. Not a very logical opinion though. Anyway, that may affect Ribbon too, isn't it? --Dmatter
Probably. We can try asking the guy from the reddit wiki / nazta to see if they know from the datamines, but we can probably test this using Juggler and Thief on an unit with Ribbon (if anyone has them and wants to help, this is). And honestly, I also think that we should have them here, just not sure if we shouldn't make a special division for them. About the descriptions, once this is decided I can just mass-replace them so it's not really an issue. --Umuzu (talk) 11:35, 15 October 2016 (EDT)
Yea of course. This should include all status effects. We should probably rename the page to status effects too, unless we want to separate out positive and negative effects, as "ailments" sounds negative. --Axer (talk)
What buffs would you have in mind? Unless you are saying for stuff like ATK/DEF/MAG/SPR buffs and elemental resistance buffs. I honestly don't see much of a problem of having two pages (one for ailments and one for buffs), but it can be changed. --Umuzu (talk) 10:33, 15 October 2016 (EDT)
About blink, if you cast Mirage and click in the unit it doesn't have blink listed (nor I am aware of units that dodge exclusively magic), do you have any data that the game identifies this as blink? Otherwise don't see a need to create a buff to lump them together when they have different durations and number of hits ignored --Umuzu (talk) 10:33, 15 October 2016 (EDT)

Mechanics study[edit source]

I'm doing a study on status resistance and how status inflicting abilities interact with weapons that inflict the same status. Also exploring the possibility that elemental resistance may affect success chances. Details published at Talk:Akademeia. —CodeHydro (talk) 14:08, 25 January 2017 (EST)
