Capture mini metal cactuars, metal cactuars, and even the elusive jumbo metal cactuars to gain massive experience for your units!
Cactuar Dunes is accessible via the Dimensional Vortex.
Guide[]
Cactuar Dunes is intended to boost your units' levels by capturing Metal Cactuars. These units are not playable; their only purpose is to be fused into another unit for massive amounts of experience. Comparable to the Gil Snapper's Cave event that is gil focused, this is experience focused.

This event is very easy. A new player shouldn't have any trouble doing Cactuar Dunes all the way up to the last stage.
Monsters from this event don't drop normal loot, nor can it be stolen. Metal Cactuars always drop a Metal Cactuar unit of their type. Each stage has a higher spawn rate of a different type of Metal Cactuar, and the last round will always have better rates. Entrance will guarantee a Metal Cactuar. Uncharted Zone will guarantee a Metal Gigantuar. Paradise will guarantee a King Metal Minituar.
Paradise provides an average of 280,000 experience per stage, which is better than the Chamber of Experience - ELT. However, if EXP boost equipment and materia is accounted for, e.g. Growth Egg, the average becomes 296,681 experience per stage. Despite that, it has an added advantage of being easy and the experience can be stored for future uses. The only trade off is that it costs gil to obtain the experience, since that is required in order to fuse them into other units via the enhance tab. The amount of gil required increases with each unit level, with much higher gil costs at higher levels.
